My trip to India - Part 2 - A "Promise"

A small thought during my journey to India ...
A Promise ...
I made a "Promise" to a child one day. As I used that word "Promise" I had no idea how important it would become in my family life.
"I will love you forever ..."
Words are strong, words can hurt ... "But you promised, you said ..." (from a child to a parent) ... Shoulders hunched over, head down, slow movement, tears, loss of faith in someone so important. Screw your promises.
Promises that are kept bring strength to a chlid. A child knows a promise can withstand a stampede from a herd of wild horses. It let's them know they can believe in someone. And one day they can believe in themselves.
A "Promise" kept brings calmness. It brings relief. It brings safety. It brings a smile where the was once sadness.
Promises cannot be broken.
