Jennie - My wife, My Life, My soul mate. My love for you is strong, strong. I would love to show you how strong you are. Take you around the world. There is so much out there to see and experience. When you read this you have to be laughing and saying "NO WAY - I think Ed's been sucking on the Tiger's and not the warm headed man". I've told the kids many times that life's experiences are no fun without having someone you love and care about with you. Whether it is riding bikes, shopping, flying kites, making sand sculptures or taking trips. This trip is work. Make no mistake about it. It would have been a a real life adventure with you next to me. I love you.

The sea is beautiful around Singapore. There are so many freight ships anchored in the very large port. This Singapore Airlines 747 has been good to me. FYI: I used a pillow as an additional divider between me and my warm headed buddy.

Forget playing it safe in Singapore, I'm going into the city.

I'm waiting for a shuttle to go into SUNTEC City. It is warm and muggy (very humid) outside. We're surrounded by a sea and very close to the equator. But for me it feels good. There are armed military personnel walking in the airport. Does that make me feel safer?

There is a Fountain of Wealth at SUNTEC city. It's a wishing fountain of sorts. Your wealth wishes come true if you walk around three times. I sure could use some off that fortune.

3:20pm - Stopping for a burger and a Malaria pill - time to catch up on my time in Singapore.
I took the shuttle to SUNTEC City. Every place is called a city here. At the center of SUNTEC city are five towering buildings with a huge mall at the bottom levels connecting the towers. In the middle is the huge Fountain of Wealth built by 5 very rich Chinese men. The fountain spills inward. It looks like something out of a movie. Something created on a computer. It's incredible.
What to do next ... Taxi cab to China town. I get in the cab and I ask to go to China town. The driver asks me something. I don't understand him. I hope he knows where I want to go. This place is a live. And then he drops me down a street that doesn't look like much.
Where are all the people? I'm standing near the entrance of a building that is shaped like a large pyramid. It is very colorful with many sculptures on it. There are sandals at the entrance.
I walk a half block and look down an alley. I've found it. As far as I can see. Street merchants lining the walls of an alley. I'm tempted to by an ice cold coconut for one dollar. It's hot. I'm sweating like a stuck pig. But I feel alive, just like this place. Alive!
It's close to Chinese new year's day. It has been raining for a few days and it is finally good weather. So there is an extra wave of people shopping today. Walking past the markets is all new to me. I've never experienced anything like this.
I decided to walk back to SUNTEC city. It's a good one hour walk. But at least I get a small feel for this part of the world.
I stopped at Raffles hotel and had a burger and a quick glance at the news paper. Singapore's port may push through 800 billion dollars worth of goods this year. It rivals Hong Kong's port as one of the busiest in the world. One glance at the harbor revealed more freight ships then I have ever seen at once.
I wish I had Pops, Juj or the Jen with me. They are safe with Laurie, Rob and Luke.
