My trip to India - Part 17

A relative and her four month old son were visiting Vinay's family. She had been feeding him in the second bed room (yeah I asked who was in the room and what she was doing). Vinay was holding him very preciously. The little boy was wearing small ankle bracelets that made a jingle bell sound when he moved. That's one way not to lose your baby. I have no doubt that Vinay and Madhu will make a fine set of parents.
...
I asked Vinay if they drink beer in the house. I was curious about how it is perceived by them. He indicated alcohol was a sort of taboo in many homes. Lessons of the evils of alcohol have been learned in this country.
...
I wish my father's family had that type of taboo in our house. It might have helped to save my brother's life.
Family and friends joined together to break the grip of alcohol on my brother's life. My brother was committed to sobriety for the final six months of his life. With a clear mind and a renewed appreciation for all aspects of his life, we all cherished his final months. My brother was home.
We shared a few miraculous moments together through his battle with alcohol. I wish I could share this experience with him. I miss so much. My little brother Mario. He died at peace at the young age of 39.
